About Vicki Jayne Maris
I am the National Horse and Pony Network Managing Director and an Inspirational Horsemanship Tutor. I launched the National Horse and Pony Network in 2008 to provide FREE on-line advice with links to experts for anyone who loves horses. To find out more about the network click here.
I am a highly qualified teacher who has lectured to degree level at two universities and worked at national strategic level within education. For over ten years I instructed at Willow Farm Riding school using the traditional approach. However my passion is natural horsemanship and the inter-relationship between horse and rider. I have many years of hands on experience using the language of the herd both from the ground and from the saddle. I am nationally recognised for my specialist work in natural horsemanship, confidecne building and performance coaching with articles published in Horsemanship Magazine.
A natural approach is the key to realizing equine and human potential. I focus on methods that enable people to learn how to transform their riding, so they can train their horses to work happily, softly and correctly using the lightest of touch. The first time my clients feel how the language of the herd, intent, subtle core breathing and energy flow enables harmony they are amazed. Clients learn how to take their horsemanship and riding to another level by becoming effective in equine dialogue. My wide experience as a human educator and as a natural horsemanship instructor enables me to deliver bespoke structured lessons for both horse and rider that utilizes human and equine learning styles.
I write to share with others my experiences, insights, guiding principles of horsemanship and my methods. My articles have been published in Horsemanship Magazine. I am the author of the interactive work book Introduction to Confidence Building for Horse and Rider, which is now available on-line for FREE. The National Horse and Pony Network website content was produced by me and I continue to develop the network website. My clients are also supported by FREE on-line resources to compliment lessons.
I understand for some taking the first step of getting in touch with an instructor can be daunting due to previous negative experiences. You will find my approach miles away from the average traditional instructor shouting confusing instructions. Lessons are structured to your agenda: they are informative, fun, logical, methodical and supportive. If you are looking to build confidence for you and or your horse I am very compassionate, understanding and I have a proven track record of success. If you are looking for inspirational horsemanship tutoring to spark your horsemanship journey toward excellence then give me a call. Talent can be taught. With a teaspoon of raw talent, tutoring, and planned, purposeful consistent practice you and your horse can realize your full potential.
